What is Manual Dexterity?
Manual dexterity is the ability to move the hands with skill and coordination. According to http://www.wisegeek.com (retrieved on 7th May 2012, 02:30), strong fine motor skills such as, writing, sewing and other activities that involve the hands and fingers rely on manual dexterity. In typical young children, manual dexterity is developed through routine activities that also required hand-eye coordination.
A Cerebral Palsy Child usually has weak fine motor skills, occupational therapist often work with a variety of children to improve manual dexterity and fine motor skills. There are a lot of fun games/ activities that can improve manual dexterity (please refer this link).
I chose to buy a toy (wooden peg game that require placing pegs into hole), while browsing the internet I find this website.I chose to have Dexterity Octopus.

Why Dexterity Octopus???
It is because Dexterity Octopus is a bright pink wooden octopus game. It is fitted 16 beechwoodpins with different diameters, heights and colors. A fun and different game for training Sofea's fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Actually this game is recommended for age 3 years +.Since Sofea is only 1 year 8 months, her fingers cannot fit all the pins (various sizes).Huhuhu...and she needs my supervision while using Dexterity Octopus.
